A cameo of Qui-Gon Jinn in Kenobi? The director promises “surprises”

“We’ve focused on the notion of heritage, so it’s going to be a mix of old and new…”

It’s been over 20 years since fans of Star Wars dream of seeing Liam Neeson play Qui-Gon Jinn again. Obi-Wan’s Master in The Phantom Menace, in 1999, was clearly one of the coolest characters in the far far away Galaxy. So inevitably, a few days before the launch of the series Obi-Wan Kenobimany are hoping for a surprise appearance from Qui-Gon Jinn…

Director Deborah Chow obviously doesn’t confirm such a cameo, but she leaves the door open. Without denying it, she soberly explains to Total Movie that, in this series, “Obi-Wan begins a long journey. There will be different people who will come into his life. Some that are important already and some that are new that will be introduced. We emphasized the notion of legacy, so it’s going to be a mixture of old and new… But I can say that there will be surprises to come. I hope it will be good surprises for the fans…”

Hayden Christensen was finally able to “explore” Darth Vader in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series

Still, Liam Neeson recently said he was ready to return to Star Warsbut “if it’s a movie. I’m a bit of a TV snob, I have to admit. I love the big screen, you know!” To better surprise us?

We will see that from May 27 in the series Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+.
