The Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World actor will lend his voice to the orange cat created by Jim Davis.
It seems like Chris Pratt is the most requested actor in the animation world. After the franchise movies Lego, along Pixar Forward and recently the announcement of the film Super Mario In which he will double as the plumber in red overalls, Pratt adds to his resume the upcoming adaptation of Garfield, the most grumpy and lasagna-loving orange cat in comics. He takes over from Bill Murray, so far Garfield’s voice holder in the franchise’s early films.

Alcon Entertainment is behind this new film Garfield, whose worldwide release (excluding China) will be orchestrated by Sony Pictures. The rights to the cat, created in 1978 by Jim Davis, were acquired from Davis, who will also be executive producer of the film. David Reynolds, Oscar nominated for Nemo, and Mark Dindal (Chicken Little), will be respectively in charge of the script and the production. The two filmmakers had previously collaborated for Kuzco, the megalomaniac emperor.
