Adaptation of the book of the same name on Elizabeth Holmes, founder of the start-up Theranos, which promised in the early 2000s to revolutionize blood tests, Bad Blood will be broadcast on Apple TV and promises a nice performance from its lead actress Jennifer Lawrence. In interview for variety, McKay revealed that the actress was in the process of preparing for the role, and in particular preparing the very deep and recognizable voice of the billionaire (who is said to accentuate it on purpose), since convicted of fraud . “You know, I haven’t asked her to do it in front of me yet. She said she’s been working on it. She’s about to have a baby so I’m not going to bother her yet but she’s born to play this role. For the voice, she said she felt it. She’s excited.” Without more details, we will have to wait for the release of the film (or at least the birth of Jennifer Lawrence) to learn more about this upcoming biopic.
A biopic that will pave the way for several other adaptations of the story of the fallen entrepreneur Holmes, since in addition to Bad Blood, this affair is available in a documentary available on HBO in the USA and entitled The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley. A series is also planned for Hulu, with Amanda Seyfried as The Dropout, Elizabeth Holmes.
