After Les Crimes du futur, David Cronenberg hires Vincent Cassel for his next film

Already on the bill for Promesses de l’ombre and A Dangerous Method, the French actor will be the star of The Shrouds.

Even before presenting his new film, The Crimes of the Futurein Cannes, the Canadian director David Cronenberg already preparing his next one. He takes advantage of the film market, organized in parallel with the 74th festival, to announce the future shooting of The Shroudsa new thriller with a twisted pitch that will mark its reunion with Vincent Casselafter Shadow Promises (2007) and A Dangerous Method (2011). The French actor will play a certain Karsh there, details Deadline, a businessman who made his fortune by developing an innovative concept: himself a widower, he invented a service allowing people in mourning to see their loved ones who have disappeared in their coffin, decomposing in real time. An idea that created controversy. His company is on the verge of collapse when several graves in his specially equipped cemetery are vandalized, including that of his own wife. The official synopsis continues: “As he struggles to uncover the true motive behind this attack, and to unravel the mystery surrounding the destruction, he begins to re-evaluate his business, as well as his marriage and his loyalty to his missing wife.
