André Téchiné prepares Les Pieds sur Terre with Noémie Merlant and Benjamin Voisin

With this new film, the filmmaker will tell us the story of a war-wounded man, back in France.

Twenty-fourth feature film for filmmaker André Téchiné. According to the site French Film, the filming of the film would have already started since June 1st. Entitled Feet on the ground, we will follow the return of Lieutenant David Faber (Benjamin Voisin) in France, after being seriously injured following the explosion of his vehicle in Mali. The healing as well as the convalescence will be long, especially as David suffers from amnesia since his coma. With his family in the Alps, he does not seem to want to remember, but his sister Jeanne (Noemie Merlant) will do everything to get him back to being who he was.

The screenplay is signed by the duo André Téchiné and Cédric Anger, for whom this film marks the third collaboration (after The man we loved too much, in 2014, and Our roaring twenties, in 2017). Filming will run through July and then resume in December.

It will be the 9th feature film by young actor Benjamin Voisin. At 24, he has already toured alongside Gérard Depardieu, Catherine Deneuve, Colin Firth and is actually revealed in Summer 85 by François Ozon, in 2020. Noémie Merlant has made a lot of talk about her following her performance in 2019 in Portrait of the girl on fire by Céline Sciamma, alongside Adèle Haenel.

In the casting, we will also find André Marcon and Audrey Dana. The film, with a budget of 4.6 million euros, is produced by Curiosa Films and distributed by Ad Vitam. We will have to wait a little longer to discover the trailer.
