Andrew Garfield sings and dances in the exciting teaser of tick, tick … BOOM!

The creator of Hamilton and Where we come from is adapting the musical from the author of Rent for Netflix.

That’s it, you’ve recovered from the trailer of The Eyes of Tammy Faye, with Jessica Chastain and Andrew Garfield dressed up as over-the-top televangelist crooks as if tomorrow didn’t exist? Here is the teaser of tick, tick … BOOM!, adapted from the autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, beloved author of the Broadway musical Rent, who revealed a certain Idina Menzel in 1996 – the year Larson died, aged 35. In short, all this to say that the cinema version of tick, tick … BOOM! is the first feature film directed by the other Broadway prodigy Lin-Manuel Miranda, author ofHamilton and of Where we come from. Garfield thus embodies Jonathan, author of musicals confronted with his doubts and his fears and the lack of success while the bills pile up. It all sounds very exciting (let’s welcome the return of Vanessa Hudgens), but only one concern: if this teaser promises an American release in theaters and on Netflix for this fall (it shows that the streaming service is aiming for the Oscars? ), no precise date at the moment. Tick, tock …
