A new remake of the 1922 vampire film.
The last time she was interviewed about him, Anya Taylor-Joy raved about Robert Eggers’ The Northman, the director who revealed it thanks to the clever horror film The Witch, in 2015. Obviously, the two artists appreciate each other a lot, and it is no surprise that the Los Angeles Times reveals that they will be teaming up again once this viking story is over. The director is in fact working again on his version of Nosferatu, a great classic of vampire films, by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, released in 1922 at the cinema, and remake in 1979 by Werner Herzog.
Eggers had already mentioned this project the year of the release of The Witch, but eventually turned The Lighthouse instead, with Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson, and The Northman, which will be worn by Nicole Kidman, Stellan Skarsgard, Björk, Ethan Hawke and therefore Anya, who has since been a hit thanks to the Netflix miniseries The Lady’s Game, and who is about to play Furiosa in the spin-off / prequel of Mad Max: Fury Road directed by George Miller. The Northman should be released in April 2022 in theaters.
