The unknown Mark Molloy will be at the controls of the Netflix film.
20 years after a somewhat outdated third opus, The Beverly Hills Cop is finally getting ready to leave Detroit. Deadline announces that director Mark Molloy has been cast to direct Beverly Hills Cop 4which has been in development at Netflix for quite some time.
The project is therefore moving forward and Eddie Murphy will resume his role as Axel Foley, while producer Jerry Bruckheimer will be backstage.
Big pressure on the shoulders of Mark Molloy, for whom this will be the first major feature film after a series of award-winning short films including The Underdog for Apple. He replaces the Belgian duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (those who have already resuscitated bad boys with Bad Boys for Life), who had initially been chosen to direct the film, but who ended up giving up to work on the Batgirl from Warner Bros.
Deadline states that Beverly Hills Cop 4 does not yet have an official production start date and is still in development.
