Blade Runner 2099: the continuation of the saga will be an Amazon series produced by Ridley Scott

It will be the direct sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s film, Blade Runner 2049.

It took 35 years to be entitled to return to the world of blade runner. But this time, the franchise is on track. In the wake of the movie blade runner 2049directed in 2017 by Denis Villeneuve, Amazon Studios is now developing a series Blade Runner 2099in live action, which will be a direct sequel to the feature film worn by Ryan Gosling.

Silka Luisa (The Shining Girls) will write and serve as a producer alongside Ridley Scott, who helmed the original 1982 film adapted from Philip K. Dick’s novel.

For the moment, no info has leaked on the plot, but, as the title suggests, the series Blade Runner 2099 will probably take place 50 years later blade runner 2049 and so 80 years later blade runner.

It will be recalled that an animated series, entitled Blade Runner: Black Lotuswhich takes place in 2032 and is therefore a sequel to the first opus, has been broadcast in recent weeks in the USA on Adult Swim.
