Kind of Sailor and Lula Moroccan version, Burning Casablanca is a rock and shock film that caused a sensation at the Venice Film Festival 2020, where it was presented in the selection Orizzonti (equivalent to Un certain regard at Cannes). It tells the love story between a fallen rock star who returns to Casablanca, his hometown, and a prostitute. Between tradition and modernity, this story shoots red balls on the patriarchal society that dominates Morocco while eyeing the contemporary western.
