Buzz Lightyear: Pixar unveils Toy Story prequel trailer

“To the infinite…”

Last December, Pixar announced the release of Buzz Lightning (Lightyear in original version), a prequel to Toy story which will tell the story of the astronaut who inspired the toy. The film will be released in theaters on June 22, 2022, starring Chris Evans (Captain America, Knives Out…) to the dubbing of the famous Space Ranger. He succeeds Tim Allen. Less than a year later, here are the first images of this animated film directed by Angus MacLane (Finding Dory).

This trailer confirms the studio’s promises to present a Buzz Lightyear very different from the one that accompanied cowboy Woody on his adventures during four feature films, since it is not a toy persuaded to be a hero in the flesh, but of a man who got off to a good start in space. We will therefore learn from this film how the astronaut became famous enough to be available in children’s toys, and what are the adventures that led him to say his famous line. “To infinity and beyond !”

Rhythm by the tube “Starman”, by David Bowie, the video evokes in passing the best of cinema and series devoted to space, from its references to Alien Passing by The stuff of heroes Where Interstellar.

Toy Story 4 avoids the movie trap too [critique]
