Cannes 2021: here is the trailer for Bergman Island by Mia Hansen-Løve

The seventh feature film by the French filmmaker is selected in competition.

Mia Hansen-Løve comes back with a new movie. Entitled Bergman Island, according to the island of Fårö in Sweden, on which the director Ingmar Bergman died in 2007, this will be his first film shot in English. The film will be in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, this year chaired by Spike Lee, which runs July 6-17.

The trailer for Bergman Island has been unveiled, along with the official synopsis: “A couple of filmmakers settled down to write, for a summer, on the Swedish island of Fårö, where Bergman lived. As their respective scenarios progress, and in contact with the wild landscapes of the island, the line between fiction and reality is blurred… “

This film marks the seventh feature film by the 40-year-old French filmmaker, after – among others – Young love in 2011, or The future, in 2016, with Isabelle Hubert, who had met with good success across the Atlantic. His latest feature film, Maya was released in 2018, and another project appears to be in the works for 2021, titled A nice morning, with Léa Seydoux and Pascal Greggory.

In the cast of this film shot in Sweden, we will find the actors Mia Wasikowska, Vicky Krieps and Tim Roth. The film will hit theaters on July 14, 2021.
