By unveiling today the name of Vincent Lindon to preside over its 2022 jury, the Cannes Film Festival recalls that the last French presidency of the event dates back to 2009 with Isabelle Huppert. Vincent Lindon, awarded the Palme for Best Actor in 2015 for his role in The law of the market by Stéphane Brizé, is at the head of a jury made up of the following personalities: the Italian actress and director Jasmine Trinca (The Son’s RoomCannes 2001, and Un Certain Regard Best Actress Award for Fortunate at Cannes 2017), the actresses Noomi Rapace (LambUn certain regard 2021), Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelonadirector of Chiaroscuro presented at Sundance) and Deepika Padukone (Chennai Express).
Also on the jury are the French Ladj Ly (WretchedCannes 2019 jury prize), Iranian Asghar Farhadi (Everybody KnowsCannes 2018 opening film), Norwegian Joachim Trier (Julie (in 12 chapters), Best Actress award at Cannes 2021), American Jeff Nichols (lovingin competition at Cannes 2016).
The 75th Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 17 to 28.
