The director of the first two films would like to adapt the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, by JK Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.
Chris Columbus revealed at Hollywood Reporter that 20 years after the release of the first Harry potter, he would like to come back within the saga to make other film (s). He thus evokes the room, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which he very much appreciated on stage (he saw her in London) and of which he would love to shoot a film version with the original actors. “A version of The Cursed Child with Dan, Rupert and Emma at the right age it would be a cinematic dream, explains the director. If you are a movie fan or a movie buff, this will be like what JJ (Abrams) did with Star wars. The saga really got back to being good when JJ made this movie (The force awakens, in 2015, editor’s note) and that he brought back the original cast. It is indisputable: if you are a fan of Star wars, you were moved to see them together on the screen. Find Harrison Ford as Han Solo, and Chewy. It was very strong. I believe it would be the same for fans of Harry potter. To have the possibility of seeing these actors, become adults back in these roles. Oh yeah ! It would be amazing to make this movie. Or those two films. “
