The Crimes of the Futurethe latest feature film by Canadian David Cronenberg, will be released in theaters tomorrow. Last night, he shook the competition at this 75th Cannes Film Festival with his strong themes: in a world where traditional sex is outdated, people are betting on cosmetic surgery to feel sensations again. He comes back with us on his collaboration with Léa Seydouxwho shares the poster with Viggo Mortensen and Kristen Stewart.

The Crimes of the Future: a playful and hypnotic SF fresco [critique]

The story of Future Crimes: While the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the human body is subject to new transformations and mutations. With the complicity of his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), a famous performer, stages the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde shows. Timlin (Kristen Stewart), an investigator for the Office of the National Organ Registry, follows their practices closely. It is then that a mysterious group appears: they want to take advantage of Saul’s notoriety to reveal to the world the next stage of human evolution…
