With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel series become indispensable

A gigantic score, for a weekend of launch at the US box office: the Multiverse of Madness should enter the top 10 of all time, certainly in 9th place, just behind Black Panther. Note that this ranking is already dominated by three MCU films: Avengers: Endgame ($357 million in 2019) Spider-Man: No Way Home (260 million in 2021) and Avengers: Infinity War (257 million in 2018).

Doctor Strange 2 obviously won the title of best start-up of the year, far ahead of The Batman and its $134 million last March.

This sequel to the adventures of the Sorcerer Supreme also does much better (about 2x more) than the first installment of 2016, which had raised $85 million during its launch weekend, and $232 million at the end of its American exploitation. A score that the Multiverse of Madness will exceed as early as next week, no doubt.
