Sam Raimi’s film is making Super Bowl buzz.
After the trailer revealed at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Homethe promotion of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness shifts into high gear with a crazy new trailer that immediately has fans on social media in awe. And for good reason, we hear the voice of Patrick Stewart, probably back in the role of Professor X. What to imagine that the Illuminati arc of Marvel comics will be exploited in Sam Raimi’s film?
This is the magic of multiple universes. Marvel successfully tasted it in No Way Home, resuscitating the Spidey version Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield (as well as their villains). A perfect pirouette to justify the arrival of the X-Men, in the bosom of Disney since the takeover of 20th Century Fox in 2019, within the MCU. A prospect ultra exciting and likely to break the American and world box office.
Very dense and filled with magnificent shots, the trailer introduces many other characters and concepts. We find there Wanda Maximoff, whom Doctor Strange solicits following his ball having opened the door of the multiverses. Became Scarlet Witch (the Scarlet Witch) since the events of the series Wanda Vision, she will notably face an unidentified character (a variant of Captain Marvel?). Actress Xochitl Gomez will make her debut as America Chavez, a superhero capable of crossing dimensions, while Chiwetel Ejiofor will return as Karl Mordo.
But the craziest sequence is the one where Strange, handcuffed and escorted by the army of Ultron, is summoned by a character played by Patrick Stewart, who lets go: “We should tell him the truth”. If it seems obvious that it is Charles Xavier alias Professor X and the Illuminati, we do not know if this secret association will be composed of the same members as in the comics (Namor, Tony Stark, Mr Fantastic, Black Bolt ). One thing is certain, speculation will flare up and excitement will rise until the release of Doctor Strange 2on May 4 in France.
