Doctor Strange 2: which character plays the star who appears in the post-credits scene?

Marvel has hired a new Hollywood big name, making his debut in the Multiverse of Madness.

Of course, spoilers to follow if you haven’t seen it yet. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

As usual at Marvel Studios, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness contains two post-credits scenes, the first being the most interesting. We discover that the rumors that had been circulating for a few months were true, and that Charlize Theron is now part of the MCU. The actress plays Clea (the character is not named in the scene), who offers Stephen Strange to come and fix the mess he has just made in the multiverse. But who is Clea, by the way? In the Marvel comics, she is the niece of Dormammu, the bad guy of Doctor Strange 1 which the Sorcerer Supreme manages to defeat using a time loop. In the comics, Strange and Clea end up falling in love. She becomes his disciple and even manages to compete very quickly with him in terms of powers. It remains to be seen whether his origin story will be quite the same in the MCU… Generally, the screenwriters of the films take great liberties with the comics. But one can easily imagine that if Doctor Strange 3 there is – the scene strongly hints – the script will revolve around the Strange-Clea relationship and their adventures in the multiverse. For the moment, it is not yet known what is the nature and duration of Charlize Theron’s contract with Marvel Studios.

The second post-generic sequence of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is in fact only the somewhat mollassonne conclusion of the cameo of Bruce Campbell (fetish actor and friend of the director Sam Raimi, who appears in most of his films). This poor seller of pizza balls from a parallel universe was hexed by Stephen Strange during the film, and is doomed to beat himself for three weeks. So we see it here when the enchantment no longer has an effect, and Bruce Campbell launches: ” It is the end ! », as the lights come back on in the room.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been in theaters since Wednesday.
