The “Sea Devils”, seen for the first time in the English show in 1972, will be back.
Hours after the New Years special, “Eve of the Daleks” aired, the BBC confirmed that Doctor who will be back very soon with a new special episode, called “Legend of the Sea Devils”. No date yet, but we are already entitled to a first trailer, which reveals the return of classic monsters in the Doctor’s universe, namely the “Sea Devils”, seen for the first time in 1972 (third Doctor period played by John Pertwee). These bipedal reptiles adapted to the sea are sure to cause chaos.
In “Legend of the Sea Devils”, Jodie Whittaker will visit 19th century China, alongside her companions Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Dan (John Bishop). The tiny coastal village they find themselves in will soon reveal its secrets when they realize the villagers are threatened both by the fearsome pirate queen Madame Ching (victim’s Crystal Yu) and the alien force she unleashes there. – although apparently unintentionally …
Note that this will be the penultimate adventure of Whittaker before his big departure from Doctor who.
