Adam McKay’s Netflix movie will be available on December 24 on the platform. A nice Christmas present?
Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Chris Evans, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett, Timothée Chalamet, Himesh Patel, Matthew Perry, Tomer Sisley, Ron Perlman, Mark Rylance, Michael Chiklis, Ariana Grande… The cast of Don’t look up: cosmic denial is so chic it might sound like a joke. Adam McKay (The Big Short, Vice) did very well with this Netflix film, which will be visible on December 24th. The story ? Two poor astronomers (DiCaprio and Lawrence) embark on a gigantic media tour to warn humanity that a comet is heading towards Earth and is about to destroy it. The problem is, no one wants to believe them, not even the President of the United States (Meryl Streep).
A tasty satire in perspective, and enough to give anxiety attacks to Leonardo DiCaprio, who seems about to fall apart in the first trailer:
” The idea is to make a disaster movie where people don’t necessarily believe the disaster is happening. McKay explained recently. ” It actually comes down to the themes of Sea teeth and the mayor of the city who puts on blinders: ” You will be happy to be able to prove it, eh? To put your name in National Geographic? ” Except that here we are talking about two rather average astronomers, but very sincere and who make the discovery of a lifetime. They come across a fatal asteroid heading for Earth. They have to warn everyone and do a media tour. And so we follow them on their world tour to warn the population. “
