Downton Abbey 2: filming in progress, a title announced and a date in 2022

Downton abbey 2

Expected for Christmas, “A New Era” was finally postponed for three months.

It’s time to go back to the castle! While the 2019 film ($ 200 million in worldwide revenue) is broadcast tonight on Canal +, Downton abbey goes back into production for a second opus. Downton abbey 2 officially started filming last June, as shown in this first behind-the-scenes photo of the production uploaded (below).

A cliché shared by the Focus Features Twitter account, revealing just a clap in front of a blurry scene in the background, in which we guess Joseph Molesley (Kevin Doyle) and Thomas Barrow (Rob James-Collier). Remember that Nathalie Baye, Hugh Dancy and Dominic West will join the cast.

We also know that this sequel will actually be called Downton Abbey: A New Era. Directed by Simon Curtis, it was to be released in theaters at Christmas 2021. But ultimately, the release is postponed to March 18, 2022.
