Accompanied by Cécile de France and Doctor Gabriel Sara (in her own role), the two actors portray a mother-son relationship facing the worst of trials: the death of the child.
Presented Out of Competition at the 74th Cannes Film Festival, Emmanuelle Bercot’s new film In his lifetime brings together a five-star cast for a moving story. With Catherine Deneuve and Benoît Magimel as mother-son struck down by a tragedy, surrounded by Cécile de France and doctor Gabriel Sara, In his lifetime promises to be a resounding drama. Its trailer has just been released.
In this feature film, several strong figures. A man (Magimel) condemned too young by illness. A mother and her suffering in the face of the unacceptable. A devoted doctor and a nurse to accompany them on the impossible path. One year, four seasons, to “dance” with the disease, tame it, and understand what it means: to die while alive.
This film represents the second collaboration of the trio Emmanuelle Bercot, Catherine Deneuve and Benoît Magimel after Heads up in 2015. The drama then marked in quick succession the opening of the Cannes Film Festival and two Césars during the ceremony rewarding French cinema in 2016: that of the best male hope for Rod Paradot and that of the best supporting role for Benoît Magimel .
Distributed by StudioCanal, In his lifetime is announced for November 24.
