“Do an episode on Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), in the 1890s, in Mumbai.”
While The Eternals is at the top of the American box office, The Hollywood Reporter interviewed his writers Kaz and Ryan Firpo, who co-wrote the plot with director Chloe Zhao. They came back in detail on the creation of the Marvel blockbuster, for example on the role of Angelina Jolie, who arrived very early on the project, on that of Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), which should gain in importance within the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, or on the MCU’s first openly gay couple, an important and natural fit for the two brothers, who were raised by two women.
The Eternals: a nice reboot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe [critique]
They reveal in passing that they would like to decline the adventure of certain characters in TV series. If this idea came to them as a joke, the more they think about it, the more they want to develop it, explains Kaz: “We replied with a laugh that we wanted to make a prequel of Eternals on Disney Plus. Go back in time and do an episode on Kingo, in the 1890s, in Mumbai, then when he was a movie star and helping Gandhi to peacefully reduce the British hold in India. There could also be an episode with Thena, in Greece. I would love to do this show! There would be loads of opportunities. If the audience allows us, we could also tell a story around Dane Whitman. Another on the Cosmos, where we would see Arishem and all the Celestials, who represent this incredible metaphor of creation. I really believe there are many stories to be told around Eternals. “
While waiting to know if this project will become reality, here is the trailer of the Eternals :
