Fanny Ardant and John Malkovich reunited in Completely burnt!

This film is adapted from the novel of the same name published in 2012 and written by Gilles Legardinier, who signs this adaptation.

In Completely burnt!, published in 2012 by Fleuve Noir editions, Gilles Legardinier tells how Andrew Blake has lost his heart to nothing since the loss of his wife. A final impulse pushes him to return to France, to the property where they had met. This journey to remember the happy days is not going to go as planned at all. When he arrives at the Beauvillier estate, Blake finds himself hired as a probationary butler following a misunderstanding. Faced with those he discovers as lost as him in this special place, this man who believed his life was over will have to start all over again.

This novel, which became a bestseller when it was released, will soon be released on the big screen: its author has announced that it will be adapted into a film, with a predominantly French-speaking cast made up of John Malkovich, Fanny Ardant, Emilie Dequenne and Philippe Bas in the leading roles (via French Film).

Co-written with Christel Henon, this adaptation will begin filming in early 2022, and should be released in 2023 under the Universal banner.
