Fantastic Beasts 3 remains at the top of the box office in France

The spin-off on the character of Dumbledore is at the very top of the ranking, for the third week in a row.

For the third consecutive week, Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets takes first place at the French box office. Fans of the saga spin-off Harry Potter are still very present in France, even if the film still had the lowest score of the 3 opuses, at the same time.

Indeed, according to figures published by French Film, Fantastic Beasts 3 section has accumulated 2,229,635 admissions after three weeks of operation. At the same time, Norbert Dragoneau’s first adventure reached 2.8 million spectators. The second part, The Crimes of Grindelwaldwas even stronger with 3,070,871 spectators.

Besides, LDumbledore’s Secrets is not doing so badly in France, given the flop he has made across the Atlantic. Despite its beautiful cast (Jude Law is Dumbledore and Mads Mikkelsen replaces Johnny Depp in the role of Grindelwald), the film is far from meeting the same success on the other side of the Atlantic. To this date, Fantastic Beasts 3 has already ceded first place in the US box office, in favor of the animated film The Bad Guysfinding himself in third place, behind sonic 2. With less than $80 million accumulated in total (79.55 million after the third weekend), the film of David Yates becomes the least profitable of the franchise: the first part had brought in $160 million and the second $230 million at the end of their operations.
