Filming of Blade, starring Mahershala Ali, will begin soon

In July 2022, exactly 3 years after its announcement at Comic-Con in San Diego.

That’s it, Mahershala Ali will finally put on for good the costume of Bladethe vampire hunter played by Wesley Snipes in the trilogy released between 1998 and 2004. Announced at Comic-Con in San Diego during the summer of 2019, this major MCU project will begin filming on July 4, under the direction of Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli), revealed Production List. This new blockbuster produced by Kevin Feige has been validated by the initial starwhich affected his successor. “Man, you know, I feel honoured, and so encouraged by this support,” the Oscar-winning actor commented for Green Book last December. “Because he didn’t have to say it. Nobody really asked him to do that. So for this person that I admire so much to come and say that… I sincerely appreciated it. Thank you my brother !”

The screenplay for this new version is by Stacy Osei-Kuffour (the series watch men), and Mahershala Ali can’t wait to shoot it, now that he’s recorded a voice cameo as Eric Brooks for The Eternalsthe MCU production directed by Chloé Zhao, which was released in the fall. “It was really, really cool to do that, he explained at the time to Empire. It was creepy, at the same time, because you know, we talk about it a lot before filming it. I’m very picky about my acting choices, like a lot of us, so having to do some of them, like finding the right voice to say that line long before I shot the movie, it woke up a some anxiety in me. Above all, it made this job real. ‘Okay, that’s it, it’s happening.’ And that was really exciting.”

Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods) and Aaron Stone (Old) should also be part of the cast of this project for the moment without a release date. Now that the start of filming of this new Blade is fixed, Marvel will certainly announce other actors in the coming days. Could Wesley Snipes make a cameo in this version? With the opening to “multiverse”everything is possible !
