This remake of a stunning Danish minimalist thriller arrives on Netflix in early October.
At night, a cop assigned to the switchboard receives a desperate call from a woman. And it’s the start of a long night, where all the action will take place around this cop and his phone … The Guilty, produced in 2018 in Denmark by Gustav Möller, who delivered both a stunning high concept thriller sharp as a razor and the brilliant portrayal of a policeman undermined in his manhood played by Jakob Cedergren. The public and critical box of the film condemned him to an American remake, of which here is the first teaser, tense but very minimalist: it is the voice of Jake Gyllenhaal who carries the The Guilty yankee, directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Equalizer, The Seven Mercenaries… and Rage in the belly with Gyllenhaal) and written by Nic Pizzolatto (True Detective). Other voices include those of Ethan Hawke, Peter Sarsgaard, Riley Keough, and Paul Dano. Not bad is not it ? We will know if the American guilt is at least as strong as the Danish on Netflix on October 1st.
