Three big outings share the podium this week: Fantastic Beasts 3, What the hell have we all done? and Sonic 2 – The Movie. They have in common to be offered in more than 900 rooms each and to record good scores, but all the same below the results of their previous respective sections. Dumbledore’s Secrets is thus already a millionaire thanks to the previews. Without, the film sells 992,743 cinema tickets, and with, it reaches 1,132,062 admissions, which places it well at the top of the French weekly ranking. In 2016, the first part of this saga derived from Harry Potter had been seen by 1.42 million viewers in the first week, and its sequel had done better in 2018, attracting 1.65 million people over the same period. In total, they both crossed the 4 million mark. However, this French start remains higher than the film’s box office in the United States, where the difference in revenue between each opus is greater (it started at 43 million dollars this weekend against 73 for the first episode). The third installment of What the hell have we done? crossed the million admissions mark in the second week, reaching 1.3 million tickets thanks to the 461,311 spectators who have attended since Wednesday. In 2014, the first part had attracted 3.41 million people in two weeks (then 12.3 million in all) and its sequel, 3.64 over the same period in 2018 (it had finished its race at 6.7 million ). At last, sonic 2 completed the podium with 297,105 additional tickets, or 1.45 million admissions recorded in three weeks. The first had reached 1.87 million tickets at that time, in 2020 (2.1 million at the end of the race).

Fantastic Beasts 4 and 5: will the saga continue after Dumbledore’s Secrets?

In addition to Fantastic Beasts 3three other new features make it into the top 10, but much lower: Revenge of the Glitter Shrimp starts in seventh position thanks to 69,481 countermarks exchanged, while the previous one sold more than 200,000 admissions in the first week. Max and Emmy: Easter Mission and The winners complete the ranking, around 50,000 and 35,000 spectators. It can be noted that if The Batman drop within the top, it should end its run beyond 3 million admissions. As for In body, it works better than recent films by Cédric Klapisch. With more than 750,000 admissions recorded in three weeks, it beats, for example, two me and its 525,000 spectators moved over this period in 2019.
