This week’s ranking looks like the last top french weeklywhere, already, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was the tree hiding the forest: if the Marvel blockbuster is holding up well (-39% attendance in the third week) and remains in the lead thanks to 374,405 more cinema tickets sold in 691 theaters, i.e. 2,427,450 in total , few films then do well. Released exceptionally on Tuesday May 17, since it was screened at the opening of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, Cut!the comic-horror film by Michel Hazanavicius (OSS 117, The Artist) was seen by 100,526 curious people this week for 470 copies (if we count its admissions since Tuesday, otherwise it is third behind The Northman with 88,586 countermarks exchanged). Then, it is the fall: no other production manages to reach the symbolic bar of 100,000 admissions, whether it is a novelty (Siblingalso presented at Cannes or I love what you dothe comedy with Gérard Lanvin and Artus) or a continuity (The Northman, Fantastic Beasts 3, What have we all done to God?…).
