Preceded by good reviews, the “true-false” biopic of Celine Dion directed by Valérie Lemercier, Aline, starts at the top of the French weekly box office, with 595,211 admissions recorded in 692 theaters, previews included. It’s enough to dislodge The Eternals from the first position, which, with 470,598 additional tickets, falls to second place. The last Marvel thus cumulates 1.2 million tickets in fifteen days. Aline represents the director’s second best start behind that of Royal Palace!, seen by 800,000 curious in its first week of operation, in 2005, then 2.7 million in all.

Two other new features are included in the ranking: Cry Macho, by Clint Eastwood, is fifth thanks to 126,797 countermarks sold for 460 copies, and High fashion starts at the ninth position, but below 100,000 entries. 92,692 people have seen this film worn by Nathalie Baye and Lyna Khoudri in 315 cinemas.
Films already showing lose between 16% (Lost illusions) and 58% (The wolf and the lion) attendance. We can note the maintenance of To die can wait on the podium in week six, the last James Bond having beaten this week the score of Quantum of Solace being seen by 3.8 million curious. Among the films of the saga worn by Daniel Craig, Spectrum (2015) and Sky Fall (2012) did better, with 4.9 million and 6.9 million admissions respectively.
