Good Omens: Neil Gaiman announces the start of filming for season 2

Good Omens season 2

David Tennant and Michael Sheen are back in Soho.

Almost two years after the premiere, season 2 of Good omens is on track. Production has just started in Scotland, with David Tennant and Michael sheen back to the cast to play Crowley and Aziraphal.

Other former faces will also make their comeback in this sequel to the mystical Amazon Prime Video story, such as Paul Adeyefa (the demon), Michael McKean (Shadwell), Gloria Obianyo (Uriel), Miranda Richardson (Madame Tracy) , Reece Shearsmith (William Shakespeare) or Nina Sosanya (Mary Hodges).

Originally based on the novel Good Omens (1990) by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, the new season will explore storylines that go beyond the original novel (covered by Season 1) to shed new light on the strange friendship of Aziraphale, a picky angel and rare book dealer, with the demon Crowley. Present on Earth since its inception and after foiling the Apocalypse, Aziraphale and Crowley find an easy life among mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger shows up with a surprising mystery.

“I’m so happy to be back here on the streets of Soho, to see the glorious performances of Michael Sheen and David Tennant. I miss the genius of Terry Pratchett, but I feel like we are still walking in his head. (…) This season we have new adventures with old friends, to solve extremely strange mysteries and we meet all new humans (living, dead and others), angels and demons“, comments Neil Gaiman, who will be co-showrunner.

No date announced. This season 2 of Good omens should be released in 2022 on Prime Video.
