Guardians of the Galaxy 3: “This is the last time we will see this team”, warns James Gunn

Dave Bautista (Drax) has already announced that he wanted to say goodbye to the saga with this Volume 3.

While his series Peacemaker, derived from The Suicide Squad, receives good reviews, james gunn participated in the podcast of Deadline to review their projects. Of course he comes back to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, his next blockbuster, which must conclude his Marvel trilogy: “It’s the end for us, the last time we’ll see this Guardians team. It’s big, very big and dark. It’s different from what people might expect. I want to stay true to the characters and to the story to give people the ending they deserve. It’s still a bit creepy, but I’m trying my best. I know most third trilogy installments suck, but that’s not true every time…”

Sylvester Stallone shows his return in Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Whereas the film entered filming in Atlanta, it is expected in theaters in early May 2023. Before that, James Gunn and his Guardians of the Galaxy (Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel) will be released a Christmas episode on Disney Plus. Then, they (or at least some of them) will say goodbye to their characters…
Since being rehired by the studio to finish his trilogy, James Gunn has been talking about the end of his story, hinting that some heroes may be missing. Dave Bautista, for his part, clearly said thathe wanted to say goodbye to Drax with this film, feeling too old to continue interpreting this very muscular character, which requires a lot of physical training, because he plays him shirtless. He was publicly supported by the director on social networks.
