Guermantes: the French Comedy in underwear for Christophe Honoré (trailer)

The troop takes the stage in the midst of a pandemic.

A great regular at the theater, whom he worked with in 1998 with his first play Beginners presented at the Festival Off d’Avignon, Christophe Honore start with his Guermantes a new part of his career on the boards.

The director films the troupe of the Comédie Française during the summer of 2020 while they are rehearsing a play after Marcel Proust. When the members are suddenly told that the show is canceled, they choose to continue playing anyway. Serge Bagdassarian, Dominique Blanc, Loïc Corbery and Laurent Lafitte then settled in the premises of the most famous French theater, for improvised life scenes that blur the border between reality and fiction. Making-off, amateur documentary or fashionable fiction: Guermantes promises a new look at culture in times of COVID-19.
