In 2020, HBO announced that it wanted to reboot in series this story of sadomasochistic creatures traveling from one dimension to another to torture humans, straight from the imagination of Clive Barker. It’s David Gordon Green, at the helm of the new Halloween, who was to take care of it, with Mark Verheiden (Swamp Thing, Battlestar Galactica) and Michael Doughtery (Krampus) to the scenario. Finally, the project has changed, since it is no longer a series, but a film and is directed by David Bruckner from a script by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, be the team behind the supernatural thriller The Night House, with Rebecca Hall. Clive Barker, the creator of Hellraiser, is one of the producers of the new project, and Jamie Clayton will be cast with Odessa A’zion, Brandon Flynn, Goran Visnjic, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds and Hiam Abbass. Hellraiser will be broadcast on Hulu in the United States in 2022, but does not yet have a French release date.
