Hocus Pocus 2 remake adds Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale and Sam Richardson to its cast

While no release date has yet been announced, Disney + plans to air the Return of the Three Witches in the fall of 2022.

After announcing the sequel to the cult 1993 film Hocus Pocus: the three witches, Disney + continues to teaser this highly anticipated remake with the addition of three new faces to the film’s cast. Thus, in addition to original casting, worn by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy najimy, aka the Sanderson sisters, join Hannah Waddingham (Sex Education, Game of Thrones), Tony Hale (Arrested Development) and Sam Richardson (Veep). They join the distribution of Hocus pocus 2 also including Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson and Nina Kitchen.

The trio of resurrected witches had a small success in theaters in 1993, but had above all become a cult classic, thanks to its multiple television broadcasts, on Disney Channel in the USA for Halloween in particular, but also in the rest of the world.

Hocus pocus 2 will focus on three young women who “accidentally bring the Sanderson sisters back to a modern Salem and must figure out how to stop child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world,” the official synopsis teases.

It’s Anne Fletcher (Proposal) who will direct the film with Adam Shankman (Hairspray) as executive producer.

While no release date has yet been announced, Disney + is teasing the release of this sequel in fall 2022, exclusively on its video on demand platform.
