The prequel to the series inspired by the books of George RR Martin dedicated to House Targaryen completes its cast with seven new actors.

While the filming of the series House of the dragon, prequel to the famous Game of Thrones, continue and announce an achievement “spectacular” according to the boss of HBO, seven new actors join the cast and complete the cast.

Among them are many familiar faces, including Graham McTavish, known for his role in Outlander, as well as Ryan Corr, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson and Gavin Spokes.

Announced by HBO, their arrival in the plot of House of the dragon is accompanied by a presentation of their character. Fans will be able to discover Graham McTavish as Ser Harrold Westerling, a member of the Royal Guard since the reign of King Jaehaerys and a model of chivalry and honor. Matthew Needham will be Larys Strong, younger son of Master of Laws Lyonel Strong, played by Gavin Spoke, who arrived at court with his father, who is also Lord of Harrenhal. Also in the Strong family, Ryan Corr will be Ser Harwin “Breakbones” Strong, the man known to be the strongest of the Seven Crowns and the eldest son of Lyonel Strong. Bill Paterson will play Lord Lyman Essaims, Lord of Mielbois and member of King Viserys’ Select Council as Grand Argentier. Jefferson Hall will play two roles: those of the Lannister twins. He will be both Jason Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock, and Tyland Lannister, shrewd and calculating politician. Finally, David Horovitch will become for House of the dragon Grand Mestre Mellos, voice of reason and faithful advisor to King Viserys.

If no broadcast date has yet been announced, the series is expected in 2022.
