Immersive cinema arrives in France with Terminator 2

“No fate but what we make”: go to Montreuil to experience James Cameron’s film in life-size.

You are part of this extreme minority who have always dreamed of living in the universe of terminator ? Ah! The good life of a resistant immersed in the war against the machines on an Earth ravaged by nuclear Armageddon… or else live in the skin of a T-800, a ruthless body of steel hunting down the last humans to establish forever Skynet’s domination… Cool, isn’t it? This is what the “first experience of immersive cinema in France” offers, more or less, devoted to Terminator 2: Judgment Day by James Cameron. The French from Dream Factory have imported the concept of “Secret Cinema” to us: a life-size role-playing game where we invest places recreating the universe of a film, with costumed actors, where the participants also receive a role and missions to perform… There were “Secret Cinemas” Red Mill, blade runner Where Star Warsto give you an idea.

Here, you will be able to embody resistance fighters from the future sent by John Connor to Los Angeles in 1995 to protect Sarah and John Connor from the killing machines. We can freely explore seven different places taken from James Cameron’s film: the arcade room, the biker bar, the psychiatric hospital, a camp in the desert, the Cyberdyne laboratory, the foundry where the T1000 disappears… and a new place, the starting point of the experience entitled No Fate, the Resistance HQ in Paris in 2022. The experience is supposed to last more than 3 hours, but does not offer the screening of the film at the end.

Sessions start today, June 16, and will take place from Thursday to Saturday, at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and on Sundays at 2 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. The place: the Orion Tower (a very Skynet name) in Montreuil, at the Croix de Chavaux metro station, a stone’s throw from the excellent Méliès cinema.
