How far would you go to find your child?
Four years later My boy, Christian Carion returns to the cinema with My Son, adaptation in English of the story carried by Guillaume Canet and Mélanie Laurent in 2017. This time, it is James McAvoy who will have to find his eight-year-old son, after his ex-wife Claire Foy warned him of the disappearance of their child. A first trailer has just been published, enough to raise the tension.
Very absent because of his work, Edmond Murray (James McAvoy) finally returns to the country after receiving a disturbing call from his ex-wife Joan Richmond: their son Ethan has disappeared. Abandoned by the police, Edmond decides to take matters into his own hands and find his son alone. And as the trail of kidnapping becomes more and more obvious, it will have to move quickly.
If the trailer recalls My boy, it remains to be seen whether this adaptation on Scottish soil will succeed in standing out from its French-speaking counterpart, who had won three stars in First at the time of its release.
