Julie (in 12 chapters): the threesome love trailer, Joachim Trier style

“Looks like you’re waiting for something, but I don’t know what it is.” The award-winning film at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival is revealed in a first trailer.

If romantic relationships are an essential subject of cinema, Julie (in 12 chapters), new feature film from the Norwegian Joachim Trier, seems to redefine the theme with its trio of characters and their interweaving. After being successful at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival by receiving the award for best female interpretation, which was awarded to the actress Renate reinsve, the film is revealed a little more a few days before its release in France.

Cannes 2021: Renate Reinsve, Julie’s dazzling revelation (in 12 chapters)

Offering the viewer a “irresistible love story” (as wrote First during the Cannes Film Festival), Trier immerses us in the intimacy of Julie, 30, in a relationship with Aksel, a successful author of 45 years. Unable to settle in life, and while she thinks she has found a certain stability with Aksel, the young woman will meet the young and attractive Eivind. In a love story where the heart has its reasons that reason ignores, Julie (in 12 chapters) presents to his audience scenes whose poetry is already visible in the trailer. Suspended time, passion and tears: the feature film announces an explosion of feelings that will not let its viewers turn the page completely.

The film will be released in theaters on October 13.
