‘Let’s not talk about Bruno’ will be performed live at the 2022 Oscars

Failing to be named (for the statuette of the best song), the key piece of Encanto will be sung on stage.

“Let’s not talk about Bruno”, but let’s sing in his honor on the Oscars 2022 stage! The 94th ceremony will take place on March 27, and its organizers have made it known on social networks as the flagship title of the latest animated film from Disney studios, Encanto, the fantastic Madrigal family, would be sung live at the event. A little revenge for this piece that broke all records in the American charts, but which did not was not nominated for the Oscar for best song. Its composer Lin Manuel-Miranda (who is also co-screenwriter and co-director of the project) recently explained why its creators preferred to submit “Dos Oruguitas”, another key piece of the film. According to him, the appearance “choir song” of Bruno represented less Encanto than this other title: “I’m always proud of ‘Dos Oruguitas’ as a submission. (…) You have to choose what best exemplifies the spirit of the film, and this song contains all of that, as opposed to the journey of a particular character. C is the fundamental story, but I’m not going to say that it was not difficult [de choisir].”

Encanto: Bruno’s song equals Aladdin’s “Ce rêve bleu” record

The video also teases that this ceremony, hosted by Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes, will pay tribute to James Bond (Dr No celebrates its 60th anniversary this year) and Godfatherwhich celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022.
