The screenwriter hopes the sequel will live up to fans’ expectations.
In a podcast from Deadline, Michael Waldronthe screenwriter of the Disney+ series Loki, announces that season 2 will tackle new emotional ground. While no plot clues were given, Waldron explains: If we talk about the creation of the series in the first place, it was important to create a new story with this character. And it worked ! I’m very excited as we explore new emotional ground with Loki. I think that was the only way to do this season 2, it’s the continuation of the first one but it’s also totally different. I hope she lives up to it, the same way season 1 did “.
Miss Marvel, Kate Bishop, She-Hulk and the new female faces of the MCU
The series about Thor’s adoptive brother left us with the opening of the Multiverse and what seems to be the biggest villain in the MCU: Kang the Conqueror. A chaotic end for the god of mischief, which should land in a universe very different from his. No date has been announced for the moment, but this sequel should not arrive before the beginning of the year 2023.
Michael Waldron also participated in the writing of Doctor Strange 2, which sheds even more light on what the Multiverse is. However (spoiler alert), we do not find Loki in this new feature film, released on May 4 at the cinema. Waldron Explain : “ We had to make a choice so that there weren’t too many things, and we made the decision with Sam Raimi to put Wanda as the antagonist of the film “.
