Mary, with Chris Evans and Mckenna Grace: Cute but too fake [critique]

A drama by Marc Webb (500 days together) to see on C8, tonight.

At 9:07 p.m., C8 will broadcast Mary, a film directed by Marc Webb (500 Days Together, The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel) with Chris Evans (Captain america) and Mckenna Grace (Captain Marvel, The Haunting of Hill House). Here is our review.

After two Amazing Spider-Man unloved, Marc ” 500 Days together »Webb returns to his indie roots with this bluette about a gifted little girl raised by her adorable uncle (Chris Evans, aka Captain America). Thematically, the film is connected with the filmo of Webb (it is the story of a girl unlike any other who, like Peter Parker, must learn to deal with a superpower) but does not seem very personal for all that. The good feelings, the feel-good prettiness, the hugs in the setting sun… Everything in this Little Miss Will Hunting looks like it came straight from the Sundance factory, prepackaged. Cute but too much fake, like the look of Chris Evans in sexy proletarian, dirty nails but impeccably shampooed hair.
