Dead Reckoning Part One will hit theaters in July 2023.
It’s here “Tom Cruise season”! After doing the show at the Cannes Film Festival, before the release of Top Gun: Maverickwhich lands in French theaters this Wednesday, the king of action has us salivating with the very first trailer Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One, the 7th film in the franchise. Back in the shoes of Ethan Hunt, he does everything in it: run, crawl on a train at full speed, jump off a cliff on a motorbike… An orgy of crazy stunts that we will be able to discover on July 13 at the cinema.
As we know, episodes 7 and 8 will be linked, even if the two films could not be shot as a result as initially planned, due to the Covid-19. And if the conclusion of the saga has not been announced, it strongly resembles it. Ethan Hunt is silent in this trailer, leaving the floor to Eugene Kittridge (Henry Czerny), the former director of the IMF (Impossible Mission Force), who returns 26 years after the very first Impossible mission :
“The days of you fighting for the so-called common good are over. We have the opportunity to control the truth, the concept of right or wrong for everyone and for centuries to come. You are fighting for a ideal which does not exist, which has never existed. We will have to choose a side.”
We are also entitled to a glimpse of the great villain of the film, played by Esai Morales, as well as new cast members: Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Rob Delaney, Cary Elwes, and Indira Varma. The alumni will also be there (Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby), as will Christopher McQuarrie, back to directing after Mission Impossible: Fallouta first in franchise history.
