Kevin Feige, the boss of the MCU, announces a change of tone…

Marvel Studios has just unveiled a new trailer for Moon Knight, during the Super Bowl. And we understand from footage that Disney+’s new Marvel series will be darker and more visceral than previous ones.

Moon Knight: Oscar Isaac Vs. Ethan Hawke in an enticing first trailer

This is confirmed by MCU boss Kevin Feige in an interview with Empire. The producer promises something “brutal“. He explains :

“It’s been fun working with Disney+ and seeing the boundaries you can push. There are times on the show where Moon Knight yells and whines at another character. It’s powerful, it’s loud, it’s brutal. And the instinctive reaction, when we see that, is to say to ourselves that we are going to attenuate the thing. But no ! We haven’t backed down.”

Kevin Feige goes further and promises “a change of tone“, along with previous Marvel series. “It’s something different. It’s Moon Knight.”

In this same interview, Feige also confesses that the character played by Oscar Isaac is already very dark in the comics, which led to the creation of the series: “He’s a dark hero, and the things we’re dealing with are very different. But since it’s a limited series rather than a movie, the pressure is less, we’re not here to do everything to make the opening weekend box office huge. We are able to take more risks, to bring a small experimental side to a large scale.”

Moon Knight will launch on March 30, 2022 on Disney Plus and its finale will air on the same day as the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessMay 4.
