Faced with the success of the series, already among the most watched programs on the Prime Video platform, its creators, including its showrunner Nick Santora and Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke, said in a statement (as quoted by Collider) work on a second season and continue the adventures of Jack Reacher, here played by Alan Ritchsonalmost ten years after the first adaptation to the cinema which had seen Tom Cruise put yourself in the shoes of the investigator.

“The Phenomenal Beginnings of Reacher testify to Lee Child’s creation of one of entertainment’s best-known heroes, Nick Santora’s original approach to storytelling, Alan’s brilliant portrayal of the character, and the dedication of the talented people who worked without slack in front of and behind the camera to make such an undeniably worthwhile series,” said Jennifer Salke. “The global impact of Reacher makes it one of Prime Video’s biggest series debuts, and we can’t wait to bring fans a second season of their favorite new series.” For his part, Nick Santora said: “The whole team of Reacher – cast, production, writers, etc – is so happy with the wonderful reception the series has received. Amazon, Skydance and Paramount have been such fantastic partners and everyone can’t wait to roll up their sleeves and get to work on what will be a great Season 2.”

If the announcement of this renewal is good news for fans, it should also be good news for its main interpreter, Alan Ritchson, a great fan of Lee Child’s novels. The actor had confided in First : I’m ready to do 26 seasons! I’m ready to adapt each of the books”.
