Robert Pattinson’s Batmobile is inspired by Christine

Director Matt Reeves is very fond of Stephen King’s terrifying car.

A few days after the launch of his new trailer for The batman, Matt reeves gives some details about his new comic book adaptation in Empire. He returns in particular to the design of the Batmobile, explaining that its appearance in the film is inspired by that of another cult car in cinema: Christine, the self-killer from John Carpenter’s film, itself taken from the eponymous novel by Stephen King. A way of remembering that Batman borrowed a lot from the horror genre, recalls the director.

“The Batmobile has to come out of the shadows to intimidate, so I imagined it a bit like Stephen King’s Christine, details Matt Reeves. I like the idea that the car itself is a horror movie figure, which appears almost animal-like to scare people off when Batman goes on a mission. There is indeed a horrific aspect to this film. “

The new Bruce Wayne / Dark Knight is on his side inspired by Kurt Cobain, specified the director within the same magazine. Also worn by Zoë Kravitz, Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis, The batman is due in theaters on March 3, 2022. Here is its trailer:
