Locksmith Animation’s first film will be presented at the Annecy Festival.
Studio founded by director Sarah Smith (Mission: Christmas), Julie Lockhart (an Aardman alumnus) and Elisabeth Murdoch (the daughter of media mogul Rupert Murdoch), Locksmith is getting into the deep end with her very first feature film.
Ron Unlock tells the story of Barney, a college student who dreams of being given THE fashionable gift: a latest generation robot designed to become its owner’s best friend. Problem, the young boy receives a defective model whose dysfunctions will lead him in spite of himself in a series of incredible adventures. The first trailer for the film, which hits theaters on October 20, has just been unveiled:
Before arriving in theaters, Ron Unlock will be presented at the Annecy Festival on June 16, during a “Studio Focus” dedicated to this new actor in animation. The entire Locksmith team – including directors Sarah Smith and Jean-Philippe Vine or co-director Octavio Rodriguez, will be there and participate in a virtual live Q&A session.
