Sex Intentions relaunched for a TV series

A ruthless half-brother and half-sister in elite Washington colleges …

Five years after the flop of the pilot filmed with Sarah Michelle Gellar (back to the casting in her cult role of Kathryn) failed by the American channel NBC, Gender Intentions rises from the ashes for a new TV series project.

It is IMDb TV which therefore prepares Cruel Intentions, adaptation of the 1999 film. This time, it will not be thought of as a sequel, but as a new version of the feature film. Located on the Washington, DC side, she will follow a ruthless half-brother and half-sister, desperate to stay on top of the Brotherhoods and Sisterhoods of their elite college. But suddenly, a brutal incident during a hazing threatens the entire student brotherhood system. They will do whatever is necessary to preserve their power and their reputation… including seducing the daughter of the US Vice President!

Phoebe Fisher (Euphoria) write the pilot with Sara Goodman (from Gossip Girl), and Neal H. Moritz, producer of Gender Intentions at the time, which we should remember, was already a modernized pop version of Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos (published in 1782).
