The Green Knight: Amazon dates David Lowery’s film in 2022

This rereading of the Arthurian legend will be visible directly in streaming.

While we were evoking the possibility of a VOD output for The Green Knight since May 2020 (!), Amazon Prime has finally confirmed, by setting its release date for January 3, 2022. Good news for all fans of the very special cinema of David Lowery (The Lovers of Texas, Peter and Elliott the Dragon, A Ghost Story…), which is inspired here by medieval legends. Dev Patel plays Sir Gawain, details the synopsis, King Arthur’s reckless and stubborn nephew, who sets out on a daring quest to face the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned alien who tests the courage of the men. Gawain must face ghosts, giants, thieves and plotters who will make his journey a quest for identity allowing him to prove his worth in the eyes of his family and his kingdom by facing his greatest adversary.

The trailers of The Green Knight, one more intriguing and sublime than the other, gave hope for a theatrical release, but it is finally in our living rooms that we will be able to discover this film released in the United States last summer. somewhere else not so bad released at the box office facing Jungle Cruise, the adventure blockbuster starring Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson).
