Seven Kings Must Die will be “the last trip with Uhtred”.
The end is less near! The Last Kingdom was canceled by Netflix last May, while the fifth season was filming. If it will indeed be the last season of the epic historical drama, it will be entitled to a concluding film! Entitled Seven Kings Must Die, this two-hour streaming feature, was officially announced yesterday, via social media:

Based on the novels by Bernard Cornwell, filming will begin in Budapest early next year, with Alexander Dreymon reprising his lead role from Uhtred. “Many characters will return to his side and new faces will be introduced“, tease Netflix, which can not say too much, at the risk of spoiling season 5.
“We are delighted to continue The Last Kingdom with a feature film. Although Season 5 completely wraps up the series, there was always one more story we wanted to tell. With the brilliant support of Netflix and the continued appetite of fans to see more, we just couldn’t resist one last trip with Uhtred …“explains producer Nigel Marchant.
Alexander Dreymon is also delighted: “It will be the epic end of a wonderful journey. “
Seven Kings Must Die, written by Martha Hillier and directed by Ed Bazalgette, will air on Netflix, certainly in 2023, when season 5 of The Last Kingdom is expected in 2022.
